Dr. William D. Silky, Director
Dr. William D. Silky retired (for a second time!) in May 2014 from Le Moyne College in Syracuse, New York where he had been Director of the Educational Leadership Program on a part-time basis. In June
2009, Dr. Silky completed 20 years as a Professor in the Educational Administration Department at SUNY Oswego. Dr. Silky came to SUNY Oswego in 1989 after 18 years in the public schools as both a teacher and administrator.
Dr. Silky is widely known for expertise in administrator placement,
school district reorganization studies, program evaluation, facilitation
and personnel evaluation. He also served as Statewide Director of the Superintendent Development Program, a cooperative venture among SUNY Oswego, BOCES District Superintendents, and local superintendents, from 1997-2009. Among
the awards Dr. Silky has received throughout his long career, he is most proud of the Ann Myers Award from the New York State
Association for Women in Administration, the Friend of the Council Award given by the New York State Council of School Superintendents,
and the Robert E. Lorette Award for Outstanding Research given by the New York State Association of School Business Officials.
